Retractable Davit vs. Egina removable Davit

Most davits used on flare systems are retractable davits. The main difference between a retractable davit and the Egina removable davit is that a retractable davit will remain on the flare tower. In retracted position the davit is stored below a heatshield underneath the top platform.

However, the removable davit will be installed just before the flare tip replacement and removed once the replacement is completed. This means that the Davit will be stored in a container between flare tip replacements.

The removable davit is installed by means of an aluminum single pole (left crane in the picture). This single pole is lifted manually to the top platform. Next, it will install the removable davit,  piece by piece, on top of the platform.

Flare tip replacement package

The activities of Eager.one included the engineering of the equipment package, platform adjustments and method statements. Also, the fabrication and (load) testing of the equipment package was included in the work. The package is conserved and packed in a dedicated container to withstand the humid climate in Nigeria.

The flare tip replacement equipment is designed to be operated by local maintenance teams, but the flare tip replacements can also be executed by our engineers.
