Heavy Lift Expertise in Complex Site Operations
In 2023, Bunge has started building a sustainable and state-of-the-art production facility for edible, plant-based oils at the HoogTij industrial area in the Port of Amsterdam.
Specialist support for large-scale site operations
The Eager.one team supported this large-scale industrial installation project in the role of heavy lift and transport specialist. The scope of the project includes the offloading, on-site transport and installation of over 130 tanks, more than 50 piperack modules, numerous large processing columns and modular units and two substations.
Custom equipment and smart lifting
Throughout the project, we have provided consultancy on third-party lifting and transport equipment. This included custom-designed lifting beams, frames and transport structures. When conventional solutions proved impractical, we engineered alternative lifting methods tailored to the specific challenges of the equipment and site conditions.
From contractor selection to execution
Our involvement began during the contractor selection phase where we acted as an independent advisor. After Sarens was appointed as heavy lift contractor, our engineering team continued to play a key role by reviewing execution plans, engineering documentation and methodologies to ensure safe and efficient operations.
On-site presence
To safeguard the integrity of the items being lifted, our engineers performed structural assessments of vessels and other key components. We were present on site for all critical lifts, spending close to 100 days in total. We worked closely with Sarens, the lifting contractor, to supervise execution. This close collaboration enabled us to address deviations in real-time, ensuring that every operation was carried out safely and efficiently.
Our continued presence and hands-on support have contributed significantly to the safe and successful execution of this complex and logistically demanding project.
