Modular A-Frame for Flare tip Replacements
The Eager.one team received a request from Malaysian company Thunder Cranes, specialized in offshore lifting solutions. This request concerned the engineering and fabrication of a modular A-frame, including the necessary load test activities.
Modular A-frame
The modular A-frame is a modular lifting device, which will be used by Thunder Cranes for offshore flare tip replacements. Next to that, it can be deployed for (non-routine) lifting operations at remote and hard to reach locations.
The complete lifting device consisted of several modules. First of all, the A-frame itself, which was constructed with a lifting capacity of WLL 5t. To be able to install the A-frame, single poles were built. For the lifting and rigging purposes, a spreader bar with a lifting capacity of WLL 5t and several rigging components were supplied.
testing & training
The fabrication phase was completed by load tests at the production location. After completion the modular A-frame was shipped to the site of Thunder Cranes in Malaysia. Here the final Site Acceptance Test took place, which was also attended and supervised by the Eager.one representative.
After completion of the test phase, Eager.one provided onsite training for the staff involved in working with the new modular lifting device.
