An extensive close co-operation between us and our customer and the fabricator resulted in a unique product. A first-in-its-kind people transfer system designed for arctic conditions! We were responsible for the mechanical design of this motion compensated gangway, the Ampelmann Icemann.
The motion compensated Icemann gangway is designed to withstand the most extreme environmental conditions during offshore usage. The gangway is designed to function with temperatures up to -40 degrees Celsius. Also, it will keep on working fully functional at sea states up to 3.5 m significant wave height.
