TP tools in action during installation wind farm
Heavy Lift Vessel Jumbo Javelin is currently deployed at the construction of one of the first large offshore wind farms in Taiwan, the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm. The wind farm is located in the Taiwan Strait, between 8 and 17 km off the west coast of Taiwan. The total project will contain 80 wind turbine generators.
As part of the foundation installation of the wind turbine generators, a total of 80 transition pieces need to be installed onto monopiles. For the lifting of the transition pieces from a floating vessel, Eager.one has designed and constructed two Transition Piece Lifting Tools. The TP lifting tools have a compact modular design and a lifting capacity up to 750 tons.
