Having the right lifting equipment is crucial for efficient and safe load-out operations. The recently delivered Transition Piece Lifting Tool, with a 1000t WLL capacity and modular design, offers a reliable and flexible solution for handling various Transition Pieces (TPs).
Custom Design
The Transition Piece Lifting tool was custom-designed for offshore wind load-out operations of our client Smulders and has already completed its first successful lifts.
Close Collaboration
Thanks to the close collaboration with the engineering and operations teams of Smulders, the tool was designed to meet their specific requirements. Its modular design ensures compatibility with various TPs, making it a versatile solution across multiple projects.
Scope
Our scope included full engineering, DNV verification and approval, as well as the design and delivery of hydraulics, controls, and a camera package. Smulders was responsible for the steel fabrication. With a fast-track design and fabrication process, followed by a successful FAT, the tool was quickly made ready for on-site use. To ensure fast delivery, the tool was initially supplied uncoated, allowing operations to proceed without delay. The first lifts were completed successfully, receiving positive feedback from the operational team.
