Over more than 40 years Eager.one has been assigned to execute 3rd party review work for plant owners and EPC contractors worldwide in the Oil & Gas industry. To secure safety, reduce planning risks and fill a possible knowledge gap in our client’s project team we have been involved in reviewing and consulting during the planning phase and the works execution of the generator exchange.
Many of our clients have personal which are trained to review and coordinate day to day small/standard transport and lift work and do not feel comfortable by the big and complex work to be done during turnarounds and other main maintenance and modifications of their multimillion assets. A 3rd party review during the preparation phase and if required site assistance during the execution phase have been a proven concept over the years for our client’s management to know that their assets will be safe during the high risk period of a Turnaround.
As an example of issues around the lifting of a regenerator head are the lifting points. Since the head has refractory at the inside, the lifting points normally give problems. To keep the refractory intact the head may not deform too much. On locale scale this normally leads to discussions around the lifting points. Standard solution for this are a big number of lifting points to spread the load and reduce the local stress and strain. A big number of lifting points will easily lead to an unbalance between the lifting points since the tolerances on the lifting equipment play a significant influence on the load spreading over the lifting point as soon as these are more than 3 points. Too solve and later check this multi discipline issue our over 40 years of experience on a great number of sites come in place.
